Quite strong great for labelling plants or veg. As a teacher I use them for assessment -(write the students names on each stick and then select at random) whoever has their name pulled out answers the question. Group work - mark with different colours - students pick a stick and sit with other people who have the same colour. I have not used them for lolly sticks.

I bought these for teaching: the "lolly stick" method! Write a child's name on each, stick them in a mug, and voila - an instant "random" name generator for answering questions! This prevents accusations of unfairness, allows children who are a little diffident at "hands Up" the chance to answer questions, and also allows a record of children questioned to be kept if you don't replace the stick in the cup. I also use them for generating random groupings.
I alos use them for multiple classes - assign each class a different colour, and write the names in that colour. This should allow four class groups to be kept on one set of sticks (although I only use two as I'm easily confused!
These sticks (unlike some I've seen) are sturdy enough for constant use with no worries about breakage, etc.
