Thought this be similar to a metal one we had years ago but it is not. First thicker beans will not go into the holes. Second the beans when they have been sliced will fly all over the place, a plastic bag attached with rubber bands may help. Third the beans are sliced too small, not slices but in bits. If you think this will be better than the simple hand held bean slicers then think again.

Well made and easy to use. Only criticism is that it tends to throw some bean slicers sideways and miss receptacle.

Looks OK at first glance; a more detailed inspection shows it is typical of the cheap and rather nasty "stuff" shipped by the mega-ton from China these days. I suppose it's wishful thinking to ever expect a bit of quality that we used to get! At least I avoided buying it for double the price at "Lakeland" - now that would be a rip-off.

Oh for the old fashioned metal bean slicers. This one was agonising to use with its silly little handle. Easy to clean though.

I remember having one of these as a child and loved cutting the beans for dinner. This is even better as it destrings too.

Handle your beans
Turn the handle and away we go. This appliance is easy to clean and the suction pad, so long as it is on a flat surface is good.

Excellent service from the suppler but the slicer is very poor

This item is badly designed and not fit for purpose. It does not slice runner beans so much as chop them. To enjoy runner beans they need to be sliced long and thin not in chunks. Read more

bean slicer

Doon' buy it
This is wobbly and almost impossible to anchor. The base is high and interferes with putting most standard bowls in place so when you use itt the bean slices go everywhere. Read more
