This was a replacement for a battered, holey old aluminium one so it was in with a chance anyway. I have to say it's even better than I hoped it would be, the funnel part is narrower than my old one so it fits all the funny little jars one inevitably collects, but not so narrow that whole strawberries have trouble going through. It has the bonus of a handle which stays cool enough to transfer it from jar to jar without the oven gloves knocking the full jars over and getting covered with hot jam. It comes out of the dishwasher smiling. I wish I'd had one years ago

How I managed without this funnel I don't know. As well as standard size jam jars, it can be used for very small and very large jars alike.

The funnel diameter is 14cm, but the funnel is only 3.25cm instead of the 7cm described in the advert. If you are preserving with large fruit or vegetables this funnel is of no use.

Technical description still deceitful after almost 2 years from first comment

After almost two years since the first review on this product highlighted that it was not matching with the description, the technical details are still wrong and deceitful. The funnel size is less than 3.5 cm instead of 7 cm as stated in the description and also shown in the picture. This makes it useless for a number of cases. For the rest the quality is very good. Basic stainless funnel that fits into top of jam jars. 5.5 inches across and 1.25 inches at the bottom. Means no more spillage.

This jam funnel is fine. For pity's sake don't spend any more than this. It does the job. Sometimes I wouldn't mind a slightly wider opening at the base for chunky chutneys, but then it would be too wide for my narrowest jars, so I deal with it and push through the chunky bits with the spoon. Whose kitchen is big enough to store two sizes of jam funnel, anyway?
It's surprising that they're not all made the same, really - how difficult can it be to design the perfect jam funnel, once and for all time? Haven't our engineers got something more useful to do with their energy? The handle isn't a lavish affair, admittedly, but it does the job. Assuming that you'll be using a spatula it's pointless spending more on a non-stick funnel which will eventually lose its coating. This one will outlive me. It ought to cost about 50p, but the laugh's on us as usual.

Jam Funnel
Just used this item to bottle marmalade and wondered how I have managed without it so far. Funnel will fit most jar necks and it makes for unsticky jars and clean worktops.

Really useful
Filling jam jars is easy with this funnel. My partner also uses it to fill a flask with home made veg soup to take to work.

Jamtastic.
This is a well made funnel. It is really easy to use and allows you to put jam or marmalade etc into the jars without it leaking everwhere. Very good.
