BBQ style cooking!!! 25 Sep 2010

NB FIRST SEASON YOUR PAN!!!! Just wash and dry it then coat in cooking oil, I used a small paintbrush, then bake in the oven on HIGH for about an hour.
My first recipe was griddled rump steak. I peeled and halved some shallotts and put them in a HOT oiled pan on the hob. Then added a couple of toms and mushrooms halved. I had some cooked new pots left over and they went in next. When these ingredients are nearly ready, oil the steak and slap it in the pan. Cook each side and season as you like then serve.
If you like it, pour the pan juices over your steak.
I use a lid from another pan to catch the spatterings while cooking.

Another good point is that you can slap the pan in the oven or under a hot grill to finish off and look really professional BUT REMEMBER TO WEAR OVEN GLOVES when handling as the handle will get hot.................surprise, surprise.

simply the best thing ive bought in years. thats takin into concideration the quality, the use i get out of it and most of all the price. not kidding, im buyin another one just a month after buyin the 1st one.
you have to season it yourself but thats certainly not even worth takin off a quarter of a star. simply rub it down with a light layer of oil or fat, both inside and out and bake it in the oven for an hour at around 250. it does look a bit staines when its done but after cookin a few times it blackens like you see pro pans on tv. i did this twice but im like that, once probably would have done. after that you have restraunt quality steaks in the house. nice charred lines on the outside even when doing medium rare steaks. if you like well done just do one side for as long as nessesary flip the steak and slip the pan in the oven until its done and your laughing.
that brings me to my next point, for those wondering over the size this pan fits 2 steaks in nicely but no more and thats why im getting another one for when i have company. i honestly cant speak highly enough for this pan and at that price what have you got to lose. lasts a lifetime to!

Great pan 26 July 2010
Considering this is only 5 pounds is amazing really good pan, you do have to cure it as it is cast iron, but i haven't had any problems with sticking and because it's cast iron it gets better the more you use it, it will last you for life unlike one of those non stick ones.

Picture shows griddle pan with lines, however I received a flat bottomed pan, no griddle markings. However will keep as I needed a new one anyway:(

Hard wearing and ideal
For the price a fantastic cast iron pan for searing your steak or chicken. You could pay a lot more, but this fry pan is very good value for money indeed. Read more

Good and Heavy. Smells of Plastic...
I was looking for a good heavy griddle and this doesn't disappoint in that regard. It's almost too heavy to lift with one hand. Read more

Waste of money
As previous review. Used it once, food stuck to the pan, washed it and now it is covered in rust which I cannot remove, again cheap and it shows

Excellent
Very heavy which is good. Sizewise think of a side plate. The handle gets very hot - you will need an oven glove when moving it.
