We also bake our own bread and it is useful as a storage device, and the guide bit does make it less likely that you'll end up with a wonky loaf. As has been said before though, the base does eventually get damaged by knife strokes and I've also now mangaged to snap one of the guide things off. So great idea, but could have been sturdier given the price.

Bread keeper is really useful if you bake your own bread as it keeps it fresh and dirt free (usually achieved by the bag bought bread comes in. It expands nicely to encompass even the largest loaf and then contracts to take up less space as the loaf is used.
The slicer guide makes a huge difference as it gives you even slices like you get in pre-cut loaves from the store. My only gripe is that it has a plastic base that can be damaged by the bread knife. Shame the designers could not have used a mini chopping board for the base.
As I have not found as similar product that is better I would recommend this to a home baked bread enthusiast.

This product is the best thing since "sliced bread"!!! :-) I purchased this along with a new Panasonic breadmaker. I also purchased an electric knife after having read that this was necessary in order to cut the fresh bread from a breadmaker. Well - I have sent the electric knife back. Not necessary when you have the guide supplied with the acrylic bread keeper. All you need to do is wait one or two hours while the bread cools down - pop it into the guide and use a regular bread knife to slice through your delicious bread. The acrylic keeper does an excellent job of keeping your bread. As a matter of fact my early attempts were quite "crusty" and leaving it in the bread keeper overnight resulted in a softer loaf. After the initial flurry of baking and eating and over eating, I have now created a routine of baking slicing bagging and freezing! One in the keeper and one in the freezer so we always have fresh homemade bread available-both regular and gluten-free. I am well impressed! I am even contemplating purchasing another one just to have it in case they ever decide [God forbid!] to discontinue manufacturing this item. Top marks!!

It is great
It is very easy to use, slices well, and keeps the bread well. This item has been recommended to quite a lot of my friends and they save how good it is too.

No more stale bread!!
Can't see why it works, but it does. Bread keeps quite fresh for several days. So easy to keep the container clean. The slicer is quite useful too. Very pleased I bought two. Read more
