Ok confession time, I had never heard of Anthony Bourdain, read any of his work. I have no idea if Kitchen Confidential aired in the UK. The only reason I purchased this DVD was to see more of Bradley Cooper's earlier work. Kitchen Confidential didn't disappoint I found it to be really funny and a well written series. Bradley Cooper was perfectly cast as Jack Bourdain, in fact all the cast were suited for the roles they played.

With American TV I've found they don't always realise what hidden gems they have and I'm sure had this aired on a different network, it probably would not have been cancelled after a few episodes. Maybe a few more seasons would have been made as well.

Buy the DVD if you have a multi region player as you won't be disppointed.

I think this is probably the nearest you'll get to the life of Anthony Bourdain in prime time television form.
I love this series - and only wish there had been more episodes.

Having been a fan of NO Reservations by Anthony Bourdain for years -
this comic, but passionate, look at the life of a top flight chef in New York is one of my favourites.

It's funny - and surprisingly instructive in the hierarchy of a kitchen.
The characters - and well chosen cast - are a delight.
It's not stand-up comedy - but the comedy of situations people get themselves into.

If you liked Lenny Herny's 'Chef' - or have an interest in this level of catering -
I think you'll enjoy this one.
It's not the same as 'Chef' - different - but I am a fan of both.

I could only buy this from the US (region 1) - so have a multi-region player setup.

Absolutely brilliant. Fans of Anthony Bourdain will recognise many of the autobiographical anecdotes that appear in his books and even the hero has the same name as the main character in some of his novels. Transferred to a sitcom series it works very well. There are a couple of outstanding episodes among a series that is consistently funny, well acted with great scripts that convey the mayhem of a professional kitchen and the restaurant business within the boundaries of good taste and the political correctness that is the scourge of the modern world. This is a must for Anthony Bourdain fans and a sound investment that will guarantee amusing watching for others. Probably the best comedy series based around the restaurant business, albeit American, I have seen.
