This is a small unit, shaped like a USB flash drive. I comes in a plastic bag with the CD-Rom containing the software and a brief written instruction sheet. Set up of the software was a breeze- 2 minutes at most.
The unit accepts the SIM card slotted into one side of it. I followed the diagram in the printed instructions, got it wrong and found that if you do it the opposite way round to the diagram, it works fine. You then put the device into any available USB port. This brings up the software. Now here, there is a slight criticism-the instructions in the software are written in less than adequate English and take a second or two to figure out.
You can then back up your SIM to a file of your choosing on the PC, copy one SIM to another, write a saved file of SIM contents back to a SIM and other useful actions. Read and write speeds are impressive.
All-in-all, an effective piece of equipment at a very low price.

An excellent little device which saved me a lot of time and effort recently when I decided to change my mobile providor. I was able to copy all my sim contacts to my computer and then onto the new sim. It takes about a minute. In the past I have lost my phone and therefore all my contacts - if I lose my phone now at least I have a back up of my phonebook on my computer. Anyone with a phone and a computer should get one of these.

The reader is OK and does what it says but my problem with it was that it would not read the sim card even if put in the right way around. Then I found that if you placed a paper clip just under the front egde of the sim it would force down just enough on to the contacts to enable the system to register the card.It done the job and I was able to back up contacts and swap over to another sim.

Neither the original nor the replacement worked with my Vodaphone Sim card. Vendor said card could have been "locked" despite the fact that I entered a PIN.
As the cost was so low I declined a refund.

Do not know how good or not this product is as it does not work with windows 7.
This information was not stated in the advert/product information but because i had tried to run it and the software packaging had been opened it was not returnable.
I had to rate this item to be able to submit this review so i gave it one star but would have left it un rated if i could.

Very quick delivery..set up as instructed, inserted tesco sim, message sim card not found. I tried putting card in different ways but to no avail. Then checked my virgin sim, worked on second attempt. I tried again with my Tesco sim but same result , no sim found..any ideas?

Receiver this item at lunchtime, and by 13.00 I have updated and standardised all my SIM cards.
Very simple to install software, very easy to use.
I was fed up with trying to enter all the information using the phone keypad - now I can view all the entries on one screen, check if the numbers are still valid, and add new ones easily.
For the money, this is a brilliant device!

This thing was terrible; having loaded all my numbers on successfully from my old phone, 5 months later I couldnt get the thing to work when it came to putting the old numbers onto the new sim. useless and frustrating.

Fussy on which SIM is used?
This item simply would not 'find' a 3G EE/Orange SIM, and I tried it on 3 different laptops. It found a Tesco/O2 no problem.

Useful little product

DONT BUY
delivered very quickly and well packaged. broke my sim, and didnt just make it unreadable but sim snapped in half. no force at all. gently entered so lost everything.
