The ipod/MP3/Mobile Phone armband carrier holds everything from an iPod Touch to an iPhone 3GS. It provides quick, convenient access to the player which is held firmly inside two cushioning layers of Neoprene when the case is on the arm. I sent mine back immediately (which Amazon were very quick at refunding) because it was absolutely useless. You can't get the phone in without it pressing the volume keys down constantly and I estimate that you'd need to be at least 20 stone for the armband to fit. It feels even cheaper than it is and I honestly can't think of anything good about it.

Whilst the armband was a little too big for my arms, I solved that within 5 minutes using a safety pin to take a good 3 or 4 inches out of the length. I can now wear it with no problems.
I bought this for my Walkman NWZ-S616F and it fits in well with a lot of space left so phones and larger MP3 players should fit in. The pocket that the phone or MP3 player goes into has a Velcro fastening at the back (against your arm) and so is more secure than other armbands. There is about a centimetre either side of this fastening left open and so I'm not sure how safe your phone etc would be kept from rain but it doesn't claim to be waterproof anyway. Through these gaps you can thread your headphones or use the small hole at the bottom of the armband, depending on where the headphone jack is on your player.
So overall this is an excellent piece of kit that does just what it sets out to do without costing more than what is frankly just a piece of fabric around your arm should cost.

Not sure how this thing got good reviews.
It's cheap and it does the job. Kind of. I bought it for an iPhone 4 and the window isn't big enough for its screen.

Too small for my tiny phone
It is a really small pocket! It is even too small for my tiny Experia Mini phone. I cannot imagine using it for iPhones as in the item's description.

Gym Buddy Arm Band
Im not the most muscular guy but this didnt reach around my bicep, Had to unpick the end and sew a bit of nylon strap on. Next time I will buy better quality.

Goog for running
