Kit Berry lived in Dorset for many years, where she worked as a school teacher and brought up three sons. She was inspired by the beauty of the landscape and her interest in folklore and earth-based spirituality to write the Stonewylde Series.
The first three novels in this five book series were originally self-published and achieved success all over the UK and in the Netherlands. Kit gave up teaching and spent most of her time during the next few years travelling the country to promote Stonewylde and giving talks on how to reconnect with nature. In 2010 the rights to the series were bought by Orion, who are publishing the books under their Gollancz imprint. Kit has now revised and improved the original three titles and these are published with new jackets in collector's edition hardback and paperback. The fourth long-awaited title will be published this August, and the final Stonewylde book in September 2012.
Over the years a cult following for Stonewylde has grown and spread, with an online community and groups of readers who meet up all over the country wearing Stonewylde T-shirts and badges. Kit attends some of the Stonewylde camps and keeps in touch with her readers with a regular newsletter, through the social networking site and her main website.
Kit is currently working on the fifth title in the Stonewylde Series, and is looking forward to starting a new project when that's completed. You can read all about the concepts behind Stonewylde, subscribe to the newsletter and find out about the online community on Kit's website www.stonewylde.com
