The kiss may miss but the book scores a hit!, 22 Dec 2004
This review is from: The Kiss That Missed (Paperback)
This picture book tells the story of the King's bedtime kiss for the little prince that misses its intended recipient!
As the kiss heads out the window, the King's knight is sent to track it down through the dark woods encountering all sorts of beasties and a very big and hungry dragon.
Fortunately, the goodnight kiss sends the creatures to sleep, but when it goes up the nose of the dragon it has a rather unexpected result!
Simply wonderful, the illustrations captivate and the way sentences are left hanging over the turn of a page to introduce a pause before a surprise is brilliant.
The humour was spot on for my four year old daughter and it still remains fun depsite re-readings. The audio version (read superbly with great sound effects) remained in the car stereo for some weeks.
Suitable for at least three year's old and upwards.
If you like fun books, I also highly recommend:
"Hiccup. The Viking who was Seasick" by Cressida Cowell
"Spider!" by Bronze Smarties Book Award winner Lydia Monks
"Wolf Academy" by Jonathan Allen

Don't miss this magical bedtime story, 18 Jan 2004
By A Customer
This review is from: The Kiss That Missed (Paperback)
My three year old loves this book about how love can change even an angry, hungry dragon's disposition! The illustrations are lovely and fun and the diction always makes my son giggle. It's got just the right combination of moral and magic - a classic!

My two daughters, 3 and 5yrs, both like this book. It's got great illustrations, with plenty of humour. It has been read many, many times.
