5.0 out of 5 stars A Triumph For Girl Power, 19 Aug 2004
By James P. "MasterChief78" (Buckinghamshire, UK) - See all my reviews
This could well be Sahara's best album yet. A welcome return to their more melodic and stylish beginnings, this outing sees a departure in part from the punk explosion that was Jenny Bomb. The faster tracks are still here in abundance (Hot Night Crash and Walk on the Wire are two of their best), but are now matched with classy, well written and performed mid-paced songs like the thoughtful Keep Calling My Baby and The Difference between Love and Hell, which cleverly draws a rather fine line between the two!

The record is musically well accomplished, stylish, and the guitars will blow you away! Walk on the Wire has a wicked guitar-duel middle 8; Mind Over Matter is exceptional in its punchy retro style; Stay / Stay away manages to pound along atop a great bassline and fancy chorus, while exploring the same territory as The Clash's "Should I stay or should I go".

Look out for this band - they take themselves seriously and pump out the quality tracks with vigour. So young still, but 3 albums already, this representing the pinnacle of their achievements to date. The band have developed a more mature and measured song writing and playing style here, and Maria's singing has improved. The backing melodies are also considerably better and the band play for each other more, which leads to this highly accomplished effort. The opening four tracks match anything I've heard all year, for overall quality and style. Do not miss out. Get this now!

4.0 out of 5 stars Swedish Summer Rock Soundtrack!, 12 Jul 2004
By J-J (Brighton, UK) - See all my reviews
Just got back from a trip to Stockholm, where the sun shone and there was much to do about town. You know how it is, you're on holiday and you're looking for the perfect soundtrack to accompany your memories. Well, I've been a follower of these Swedish Rock Chicks since the started out(That's 'Chicks' and not 'Babes', even though these gals are cute, Swedish girls are a bit touchy about certain popular opinions!) and was pleasantly surprised to find their latest album sitting in the top 20 display of the Åhlens record store. Without hesitation, I picked it up!

I was in for a surprise! First up, Maria has changed her singing style slightly... but wait! this ain't a bad thing at all! It's really nice, and on the opener 'WHO DO YOU DANCE FOR? ' (currently my fave track!) all the girls sing great harmonies in a kinda 60's girl band style. Track 4 comes up as my 2# fave track 'WALK ON THE WIRE ' this track really rocks. Infact the whole record has more catchy tunes, hooks and harmonies than the first two records. Don't get me wrong, they've still got the raw energy! This album impresses me much more than the last two put together! More catchy tunes that swim around you head! And with all this, these chicks prove they can still rock hard!

Go buy it!
