Product Description

Product Description

"What was it like to be best friends with a Rock and Roll legend? Bob McAdams and Gordon G.G. Gebert have been asked that question more times than they can remember, each having the dubious distinction of being members of the KISS inner circle. People never seem to get enough of all their outrageous stories and finally -- after re-telling these episodes about Ace Frehley and KISS for the umpteen thousandth time -- Bob and Gordon finally decided to pen their stories. This book exposes the hidden reality of some of Rock and Roll's most excessive characters: Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. The photos alone are worth the price of admission! Together, they have written the most fascinating expose' in recent memory, full of candid details surrounding the lives of rock and roll's most secretive band. KISS's superstar status was, perhaps, the least interesting aspect of their twisted persona. Yes, it's about the power, fame, money, sex and madness associated with rock and roll and the lives of those who came in contact with these living legends. Better still, there is a comic insanity in these episodes that go beyond cartoon characters or the fictional members of Spinal Tap. Kiss & Tell is the epitome of the classic cliche "Truth is stranger than fiction! "Here is an unauthorized "behind the scenes" view of KISS with true inside stories they wouldn't want you to know.Kiss & Tell includes over 218 pages of "TRUE," never before told stories and photos of KISS from a collaboration of two people that knew a side of KISS never seen."

Another sad pathetic cash in on the coat tails of a rock legend(a fallen one,no doubt about it). What do you get when you combine two pathetic losers and a egomaniac junkie, yep thats right this book.Like 'Into The Void' this book is the pathetic ,self serving rantings of two delusional men, unable to comprhend that they alone are responsible for their lack of success/self esteem etc, however rather than accept that, they use Ace(who admittedely appears to be a pathetic ,shallow individual) as the person to blame.

What comes across loud and clear is the author(s) lack of intelligence, too let yourself be put upon so many times, used continuously, humilated, dumped upon, wow what kind of fool are you?

Clearly an attempt to make money off of Ace's name, this would appear to collaborate much of what Wendy Moore's book 'Into The Void' said.

It certainly explains why Ace's career outside of KISS is so shambolic and why he will never re-enter rock stardom.

Like a car crash you dont want too look but you do,this book is sad reading, its not nice to realise a hero you had growing up,is such a loathsome character,it will certainly be interesting reading Ace's own book 'No Regrets' due next year 2011.

Its hard to say this book is entertaining, its not even compulsory for a KISS fan, there's no real enjoyment just a sense of sadness.

This is really behind-the-scenes of Ace Frehley. All the good times are here and so are the bad. One is torn between extreme feelings of sympathy and complete disbelief when reading about Ace's antics. (It's a wonder the author managed to stay friends with Ace for so long.) Although I always knew that Ace was, shall we say, special, it's still hard to see your childhood heroes take a fall (and a very hard one at that). The literary qualities of this book are non-existent but it's a chilling read nevertheless. KISS fans should line up to buy it.

I agree with most of what's been said about this book (guilty pleasure reading, sour grapes but still interesting to Kiss fans, lots of behind-the-scenes stories), but I think it must be mentioned that it has a few black-and-white pictures which are priceless, like Kiss jamming at Ace's wedding, for instance. If you're a Kiss fan, do buy this book. But if you happen to meet the band face to face, never let them know you bought it, let alone that you enjoyed it!

Poor quality
A disapointing poorly written and edited book. The photos are low quality and uninteresting. Gordon had contempt for the band before hitching a ride with Ace. Read more

This is a very interesting book and formatted in such an amusing way. While it does fracture the image I had of Ace, it just goes to show you how fame and fortune can corrupt. Read more

The truth behind the scenes
At least the authors of this book admit their sins through out the various stories narrated. They fully aknowledge the fact that were two of Ace Frehley's Party buddies. Read more
