Izzy isn't the most loveable Mansell heroine, but she grows on you (as she does on the other characters in the book). In fact, this book is a collection of some real oddballs - Izzy (aspiring singer and full-time flake), Gina (if there was anyone less appropriately named in fiction - she's definitely not a "Gina"!), Vivienne (never-take-no-for-an-answer Ex of our hero, Sam), Marcy (who breaks up Gina's marriage with an untimely pregnancy), Tash (a classic jerk in sheep's clothing), Kat (who at 17 appears to be the mature one, but proves she's not quite that grown up after all), Andrew (Gina's husband, you almost come to feel sorry for him!), Simon (future hero in the making), and Sam - our perfect hero. You can see - another cast of thousands, a Mansell trademark. I have to admit - although I liked this book a lot (stayed up late last night to finish it), I don't love it the way I have loved previous Mansell novels. It's very good - but Good at Games, Head Over Heels, Millie's Fling, Sheer Mischief, Perfect Timing are all loads better. I've got Mixed Doubles to finish up, then it's a long dry spell until the next one hits the shelf! Keep turning them out Jill, we love them!
