My 2 1/2 year old loves this book, as do I since it's a big help in getting her to go to bed.
The story is simple and the illustrations are a delight. Not as complex as, say, Pumpkin Soup but great for the around 2 - 3 year old mark.

This is such a lovely book for bedtime. Both my girls have enjoyed it between the ages of 18 months to 3 years.

We used this book as part of our nightly routine for a few months. The pictures are interesting but not cluttered, which gives enough to talk about, without being over exciting at bedtime. We copied the actions of Mrs Bear (yawning, hands behind back, kissing Sam). They spotted the mouse on some pages and counted the toys. By the end of the story, both girls were ready for bed.

The book has been repaired several times, but the bear has survived better.

I've been reading this to my son Sam since he was about 10months old, he's now 14months. I have since introduced other books to our bed time reading ritual, but he'll always point to this one. It's a lovely repetitive book for going to bed, and its nice the way it's followed at the end 'kiss goodnight Sam.' which marks my Sam's time to go to sleep too.

Kiss good night Sam is a lovely bedtime story, beautifully illustrated and a my 2 1/2 year old loves it. We do all the good night kisses with the story and the final bit where Sam says goodnight and goes to sleep works a treat for my Son who copies it and goes to sleep. A fabulous snuggly story for getting little ones off to sleep.

This really is a lovely bedtime story and for any other time really. My son (called Sam) absolutely adores it and if feeling slightly under the weather will always plump for this book out of the vast collection of story books we own. There are several other "Sam" books by Amy Hest and they are all adorable.

This is a fantastic book and my son has loved it since we started reading to him when we got it from the library.

Is a simple story with some lovely illustrations and some great interactions for the little one to get in board with.

Now he understands it a little more he still loves it and if has become his 'morning paper' with his breakfast (don't ask).

HOWEVER. I was a little disappointed to find that she we bought it that this was the American version and as such has American grammar and spelling :

Not a massive issue, but just be wary if it bothers you. The listing could be clearer.

We got this book from the library and had to renew it three times! My 20 mnth old loves this. We read it twice every night! I think we are going to have to buy a copy. The text is natural sounding with lots of repetition and opportunities for sound effects. The illustrations are richly coloured wit plenty of detail. This is a lovely book for the very young but I think it would be a very nice one to read together as a cild gets older.

I had to buy more copies of this book as our first copy fell apart. I think we must have read this to our, now 18 month old, daughter over 300 times. She absolutely loves it. She wants it read to her every night before bed, and really enjoys pointing out things in the wonderful illustrations. Even though me and my husband know this book inside out and back to front we still haven't tired of it. A must have for all children.
