Poor Priyanka! Some of the things she had to do in the early days of her career to make a name for herself.
What beggars belief, sometimes, is just how producers get the money for these things - don't the investors ever read the plot - or is it just used as some kind of tax write-off or money-laundering gig? "Hey, guys, we've got this great idea - it's about a bad guy manufacturing child vaccines that don't work properly and this noble doctor who gets tricked/scared/blackmailed into going along with the scam." "Isn't that the same plot that we used last time...and the time before that....and in those films in the seventies?" "Yeah, but this one's got Priyanka in it!"
Priyanka, of course, looks flawless and executes her role very professionally - but there is absolutely no chemistry with Bobby Deol, her leading man. Bobby's main problem, of course, is that he can't act - he has no emotional range at all - he just stands around smoking and trying to look tough, like he saw someone do in the movies once.
Thank goodness, by the way, that India has banned smoking in the movies - it will at least force directors to dream up some new leitmotifs for the gangsters - and it will reduce global warming in Bobby Deol's case.
The plot and motivations are laughable. The fight scenes go on far too long and are repetitive - the car explosions are simply wasteful and unnecessary. Some of the songs and dance routines are very good. If yu watch it at all, it will be because Priyanka looks breathtaking and for no other reason.
