This is a book which all budding fire investigators should own! It is a book which compliments NFPA 921 very well. It is well written by two experts with an international reputation and should be treated as "the bible!" Its not cheap but its well worth the money. However, its not for the faint hearted, its a technical manual that is for the professional. If you want to be a professional buy it!

It doesn't get any better than this for practical fire investigation tips. Not only telling investigators what to look out for, but also pointing out some of the myths surrounding fire investigation scenes and indicators. An excellent book

Good For Any Investigator or Entry-Level 10 Oct. 2013
By Narimatsu - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Hardcover Verified Purchase
I have read this book first when it was a 3rd ed. I had decided that I needed an updated version and I have never been disappointed. It was exactly what I expected and it is as good as when I first read the 3rd edition. This edition is even better because it contains updates as the field of Fire Investigation is ever changing to a degree and it has great color illustrations that the previous edition that I had did not. Like the edition I have read before this one continues to be a well-balanced text providing both entry-level investigators as well as those well practiced in the field a great reference. It is written and organized great skill. It allows you to find a topic quickly. Or it allows the student easy learning objectives and highlights key points along the way. I would highly recommend this book for the beginner as well as someone already practicing that needs a great reference. This is a well-respected author and that is reflected throughout the text.
Great Condition, better than listed 9 May 2012

I ordered this book and paid the extra money to get it shipped next day. It was still cheaper than driving 20 miles to the College Bookstore to buy it. It was listed as "Acceptable" for its condition and I would have listed it as "Like New." It had no highlighter marks, pencil marks or any damage I was able to find at all. I thought it was a brand new book. This was my first Amazon order ever for a textbook. Great Job.Thanks

I fought buying another version of the same thing, but I did it and I am glad.
Its not hard to read, and if you get dragged into court by some lawyer that wants to Daubert you out, you can dazzle them with what you have learned from this book, because it's in there.

Great product, it was actually wrapped by the publisher and had the access card with it. I had already bought one, but it came with it, that was not advertised with the book sale. Overall, excellent!
