Decca’s presents its first-ever Kiri te Kanawa compilation devoted to Mozart and Richard Strauss, the two composers most closely associated with the world-renowned soprano who won the Lifetime Achievement award at the Classical Brits, 2010.
The selection includes arias from operas which te Kanawa has performed on stage as well as a number of concert arias and songs. Kiri te Kanawa is accompanied by two of her greatest musical mentors: Sir Georg Solti (in his dual role as conductor and pianist) and Sir Colin Davis (with whom she first sang the role of the Countess in Le Nozze di Figaro at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, in 1971).

Format:Audio CD
This is a wonderful collection of Mozart/Strauss aria's. Kiri has always been a great singer of both composer's.
This CD includes the entire album Mozart Aria's with Colin Davis (Conductor) along with London Symphony Orchestra supporting Kiri, I believe the album was originally released in the early 1980's. There are also some of Mozart's wonderful concert Aria's . CD 2 is a collection of Strauss aria's taken from various opera's that Kiri has peformed in. Again lovely singing.
This is Kiri at her best. I would recommend this CD above anything else she has done.
