Holy cow! Has anyone seen my brain floating around here...anywhere? Without a doubt, one of the best split CD's I've ever heard. This was in fact, my first exposure to Seattle's beloved space rock gnomes, Kinski (I've since then heard every title they now have out). This is pure no-bars hold head-tripping music for those who love it. No best tracks here because they all four TOTALLY rip! Specially the last two, the thirteen-minute mind-melter "Planet Crazy Gold" and the well-written twenty-six minute (whew!) "Virginal Plane". Tag this title as space rock, call it experimental noise rock, etc. - call it whatever you like. Essential for all true fans of this genre. Should very much appeal to fans of Starfield, vintage Hawkwind, Flying Saucer Attack, Spacemen 3 and possibly Bardo Pond.

WOW - ok where do i start, after a long wait - the package dropped through my letter box and there it was.......
Kinski & Acid Mother Temple - it quickly found it's way into my Cd player - where it will remain for a very long time.
This fantastic Cd kicks off with a great track - fell asleep on your lawn and from there on it just never lets up it finishes with virginal plane 5.23 - its just fantastic.
If you want your music 'Psychedelic' then this is for you, if you have other Kinski Cd's - ie.... 'Airs above - Turtle' then you are in for a treat.
The sound that came out of my speakers was and is wonderful - the Cd roll's along from track 1 - 4, each track nice and long - no little 3min interludes on this Cd - get you ears ready for some powerful 8 - 10 min + slabs of music scapes.
If this is a one off then i'm gonna be sad - this is one of the best albums i have brought this year so far - if you do just one thing this year BUY THIS.

Kinski Spricht Villon is a recording of the Actor Klaus Kinski reading the poems of medieval French poet Francois Villon, beautifully rendered into German by Paul Zech.
An example:
"Vor vollen Schüsseln muß ich Hungers sterben,
am heißen Ofen frier ich mich zu Tod,
wohin ich greife, fallen nichts als Scherben,
bis zu den Zähnen reicht mir schon der Kot.
Und wenn ich lache, dann habe ich geweint,
und wenn ich weine, bin ich froh,
daß mir zuweilen auch die Sonne scheint,
als könnte ich im Leben ebenso
zerknirscht wie in der Kirche niederknien...
ich, überall verehrt und angespien."

I don't know what the other reviewers have been listenening to . . .

Kinski / Acid Mothers Temple (Sub Pop) Split CD 5 Aug. 2004
By Mike Reed - Published on Amazon.com

Holy cow! Has anyone seen my brain floating around out there...anywhere? Without a doubt, one of the BEST split CD's out there now. This is my first exposure to Kinski and now I can certainly see what all the fuss is about. This is no bars hold head-tripping music. Total of four tracks that tally up to one hour. No best cuts here because all four TOTALLY rip, specially the last two, the thirteen-minute mind melter "Planet Crazy Gold" and the well written twenty-six minute (whew!) "Virginal Plane". Call it space rock, call it experimental noise rock. Whatever you call it, it's a must-have for fans of this genre. noisy and beautiful... great. 18 May 2004
By Adrian Saenz - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
This record is so ambient and so noisy. It's very extreme.
There isn't a whole lot to say about it except that it's good.
It's something you'll have to hear for yourself... Love it or
hate it. The kinski stuff is an easier listen and much more
accessible than the acid mothers temple stuff. Acid mothers
temple takes a while to get used to. But i highly reccommend
this record. Awesome.
