This is a very moving and fantastic account of what life was like for the prisoners of war in the camp at Kinkaseki. My granda John Paxton Douglas Couper was in the camp till the end in 1945,he was one of the lucky one who made it.He lived to the ripe old age of 95 and sadly passed away this year.I think everyone should read a book like this as we should never forget what these veterans did for us and i am truly greatful.

This book is a harrowing account of life in a Japanese POW camp in Taiwan. There are other such boks around about the same topic, but if you are looking for a true read on the subject, this is the ONE book for you. Excellent reading but harrowing at times.

An excellent book that my husband had tried to find for a long time. He was very pleased with it.

This book was written by an English POW who was sent to Taiwan in WWII. He captures the brutality of the Japanese officers and men who were assigned to the POW camp.
