Amazon Verified Purchase
What a superb piece of kit. I have always bought Kingston memory products for my computers so when I discovered this portable data drive, with a whopping 4GB of storage, I ordered it right away. I previously had purchased the 2GB version (green) but found this filled up all too quickly. Having now transferred my diagnostic tools and recovery programs to this 4GB drive, I am able to maintain computer systems and perform backups with ease.
It hangs on the ring with my house keys so I NEVER leave home without it and it has never let me down. I like the fact that the cap can be pushed onto the body for safe keeping and the keyring leash doesn't get in the way.
The physical size means that it can be stacked with the 2GB drive or regular USB plugs where the USB sockets are close together.
Some of the laptops I fix are USB 1.1 and it does tend to run a little slower but I've had no problems with USB 2.0 drives and I can even run video from the drive if I want to. Runs on PC and Mac systems (keep it formatted as FAT32) so I can transfer files easily.
If Kingston don't make an 8GB version soon, I'll be tempted to purchase a second one! It is way smaller than the equivalent space taken up by a DVDR disk... Excellent!

I bought 2 of these flash drives for reasons not really mentioned in any of the other reviews.
I recently bought and installed a new Sony Radio/CD player for my car, and it has amongst other things a USB port for connecting external devices. I ripped & transfered several hundred music MP3's to my flash drive for use in my car. It does away with having to carry loads of CD's in the car (reduces the chance's of theft), you don't need a bulky CD changer in the boot, the tracks don't skip if you drive over some really bad road surfaces, you are not constantly having to change CD's while driving. I just plug it in, switch on the shuffle mode and it plays all my favourite tracks in random order. It's just like having a jukebox in the car, and when you park up, you just put the flash drive in your pocket - brilliant !!! I nearly forgot to mention that when I get back in my car and plug the flash drive in the CD Player, it starts playback where it left off.

This is a cheap and convenient way of storing/transfering 4GB of data... however be prepared to wait...! This is such a slow device, it took 25 minutes to copy 1GB of MP3's. Compare this to my old Disgo 4GB USB drive (mini hard drive) which took only 8 minutes. To be fair it is at the bottom of Kingston's USB flash drive range so it's not designed to be quick (and is priced accordingly).

Machine Washable too!
