I just purchased the Kingston HyperX 4GB Kit (2x2GB Modules) 667MHz DDR2 Notebook Memory (KHX5300S2LLK2/4G) for my wife's three-year-old Sony Vaio VGN-CR410E/P. According to Geekbench, I got a 39% increase in power from the upgrade. As Charlie Sheen would say, WINNING! While the machine runs significantly better than it has in the past year, it still doesn't compare to that of a new notebook with Intel's latest technology. I'm hoping the RAM and HD last in my wife's machine for quite a while, but as of right now, the machine is preforming pretty well.
