5.0 out of 5 stars Great SSD 17 Feb 2012
I bought this a few months ago for my new build, i've never had one before, My god i don't know why!! This little thing is great, i put all my computer together, plugged it into a SATA 3 port on my Asus Maximus Extreme-z and booted... It was the only thing on my build that i was worried about, and again i don't know why... It worked like a charm, my computer picked it up instantly and istalled windows 7 so incredibly fast. I really do recommend this SSD due to researching into some others and they have to use lunix to update the firmware which just looks like hassle. I haven't had a single problem and even tho it's nearly full it runs as fast as it was with just the OS. Getting a second one soon ^^ Well worth the money!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome Speed 29 Dec 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
Hadn't expected this to perform quite as well as it does - absolutely blazing speed when used with a fresh Windows 7 x64 build.

I've paired this with 16gb of fast Vengence DDR3 memory, allowing me to run multiple heavy video/graphics/developer apps without a swap file.

I've always viewed SSDs as an indulgent and unnecessary toy - and one that's famous for being plagued with niggly issues - but having used this particular unit for a while now, trouble-free, I wouldn't want to be without it.

4.0 out of 5 stars A good deal so far 23 Jan 2012
By GSC
Got this in September 2011.
I've been using it as my operating system drive,Windows 7 64bits since then, "SATA 3" via the Marvell 9128 chip on a Gigabyte P55A-UD5 motherboard(so not a new MB) with the driver version 1.2.0.1006(downloaded from the soon-to-be-offlimits-Web)
I've been testing the drive on both Marvell(6Gbit/s) and Intel(3Gbit/s) chips, with PCIe 16x and PCIe 8x, using various drive-testing and benchmarking software and I found this (with ATTO disk benchmark for example):
- on PCIe 8x (PCI Express 1.0, Intel controller) the transfer rates are LIMITED to about 200MB/s for reads and about 130MB/s for writes
- on PCIe 16x(PCI Express 2.0, Marvell controller) I got spikes of 600 MB/s read(queue depth of 10,4MB and 8MB file size) and the writes transfer rate is LIMITED to 250 MB/s
On day to day usage you will probably get transfer rates of 350-400MB/s for reads and anything from 250MB/s downwards for writes
But if you have a newer motherboard with a chipset that natively supports 6Gbps SATA("SATA3") then you will probably get maximum transfer rate from your HyperX
So the short version is : Good SSD, no problems with it,recommended.

January 2012 update: So far I've experienced 4 BSODs(Blue Screen Of Death) since installing it but I dont know for sure if they were caused by the SSD overloading or the video card overloading(as it produced BSODs before), I say overloading but...not sure, maybe it's just Windows acting up...I think it was when I had lots of web pages opened but cant remember now...I had not payed much attention and restarted the PC fast as I cant be bothered by errors, things must work, and fast or else!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is an excellent SSD. 29 Sep 2011
By loip
When I received the SSD I was surprised to see that box had a sticker stating that the speeds are improved to:
Read:555 MB/s
Write:510MB/s

I use the SSD as my primary boot drive with windows 7 (64) ultimate. I used Acronis to image my old HD to this one. It worked perfectly. I rebooted and I got my old windows installation on my new SSD. The boot-time was now under 30s (previously just over a minute - 2 year old installation). All software now start and respond more rapidly. The windows experience index for HD is now 7.8!

The box contains the ssd, a 3.5-inch bay adapter and even contains the necessary screws to install. There is NO sata3 cable in the box.
I have been using this product for a few days now and I am extremely happy with it. I would recommend it if your computer supports sata3.

1.0 out of 5 stars Blue screen None Stop 4 Mar 2012
I get blue screen everyday (almost) I wish I had Googled this drive reviews before I bought it. apparently a lot of users have the same problem, as it has been mentioned on two other reviews here and another 100 reviews on different websites. I have two other ssd's (Force 3 & Kingston 120GB V+200) and both are trouble free. STAY AWAY
I agree with "only noobs buy Alianwares!!"

1.0 out of 5 stars Make sure it is compatible with your Laptop!!! 26 Nov 2011
By Nick
I ordered one from Amazon and delivery was quick but the SSD is a disaster itself! I tried it on a HP DV6-i5 laptop and its BIOS could not detect the drive all the time!? sometimes was there and sometimes not. So I upgraded the laptop Bios and SSD firmware to latest, but the problem did not go away. I tried IDE SATA AHCI. I have also tried it on following laptops:

Acer 5810T: Caused random blue screen
Acer 4810T: Caused random blue screen
Samsung X460: Windows 7 did not install BSOD at different stage of installation
Samsung RC510 i5: Windows 7 did not install BSOD at different stage of installation
Samsung RF510 i5: Windows 7 did not install BSOD at different stage of installation
Samsung RF511 i5: Not detected all the time.
Samsung RC520 i5: Not detected all the time.

I also tried it on few different desktops and it worked well with out any problem under any settings. So clearly the SSD controller has some incompatibility issues with some mobile chip sets. I'm returning mine.

Good Luck
