This encrypted pen drive does exactly what I expected - with no fuss.
Set-up is a breeze. Select an appropriately strong password and the drive then formats itself.
Once formatted, the drive allows you to use it as an ordinary drive.
Place the drive in your pc and the software launches and asks for the password. After entering your password, the drive is accessible in the normal way and all files can be dragged & dropped or cut/copied and pasted as usual.
Kingston recommend that the drive is shut down via the interface and then safely ejected but you will find that if the drive is simply pulled out, your data is still safe & encrypted, so your sensitive data is still safe. I would recommend that the drive is removed via the "safe eject" as many years ago, we managed to damage a SONY 1GB drive by just pulling the drive out. It didn't just wipe the data, it made the hardware unusable.
So, recommended? A Whole-hearted "YES".
I have since seen a Lexar drive that is similar. The only downside is that I would have preferred a larger drive as 8GB is getting to be a little small these days and a larger drive was quite a bit more expensive (8GB was £19.99 whilst the 16GB version was £53 and the 32GB version a whopping £101 O.O). Mind you, this beats the 1GB Ironkey Basic S200 which is £60 and the 16Gb Lexar Jump Drive Secure II plus which is £32.00.
