Product Description

Product Description

Dragon Pass

A land where miles-long dragons sleep for centuries, while cities are built upon their backs.

Where the tide of the Red Moon sweeps down from the North, devouring the forces of earth and wind.

And where you can discover the true secret of Argrath, a hero who made a difference.

KING OF SARTAR is a collection of ancient Gloranthan manuscripts published for the first time. It provides an anecdotal chronology of the history of Dragon Pass, from the extermination of all life in the Dragonkill War, its eventual resettlement by humankind, the Lunar Empire's invasion and conquest of the Pass, and finally its liberation by the King of Sartar. Fully indexed, with maps.

Not your ordinary fantasy novel 15 May 2000
By Torbjörn Andersson - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
King of Sartar is a collection of myths, short stories and essays that portray a pivotal point in the history of Dragon Pass in Glorantha. The book is presented as a series of documents collected long after the events.

All the documents are set in the fantasy world of Glorantha. The texts range from creation myths to level-headed accounts of the daily life in an Orlanthi clan. KoS is actually deep background for roleplayers but can be enjoyed by any fantasy fan. The level of and attention to detail makes the region of Dragon Pass "come to life" and leaves you wanting more.

The true story lies somewhere between the lines and not even the conclusions at the end manage to dispell the contradictions between the various documents. Each and every reader will form their own opinion of what really happened.

The myths and legends of how one man became a god 29 July 1998
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This book tells the story of a man who led his people to freedom during a conflict commonly known as the Hero Wars. As opposed to most other works of fantasy it is not told as a straight story. Instead it's a collection of documents, some contemporary and some written long after the events. By reading between the lines and comparing the sometimes conflicting sources a fascinating story unveils itself. The book is not The One True Story, you will have to decide which sources to trust, since every document is written from its own perspective. A must have for fans of Glorantha
