4.0 out of 5 stars Brutal, 16 Jun 2008

i am a big fan of Crowbar,so i bought this album and i must say it is very good.the mood is dark and heavy and so are the riffs.a fine balance between jasta's scream and kirk,s beer/whisky/all sorts soaked vocals.
for me this is pure music as there is constant tempo changes, the mood is extremely heavy and sad and the riffs are a killer.
brillaint.

5.0 out of 5 stars Check out MySpace, 12 Jan 2008

Believe me if you dig Hatebreed and Crowbar and want some TRULY STAGGERINGLY CRUSHING MEGA-RIFFS & BEATDOWNS yet with spine tingling melodies that bother you on and on and on and HAUNTING VOCALS FROM BOTH KIRK AND JAMIE all wrapped up in VEIN BURSTING AGGRESSION and that ONCE IN A LIFETIME MOMENT OF PURE CREATIVE GENIOUS WHEN WORLD'S COLLIDE and all the time being held together with a bluesy streak straight outta the swamps of New Orleans then go check out MySpace for a preview. THIS IS GONNA BE ONE HELLUVA GENRE-DEFINING ALBUM THAT WILL GO DOWN IN HISTORY AS THE BENCHMARK OF BENCHMARKS. The bar isn't just raised it's blasted right outta sight. This album will spell the end of more than it's fair share of stereo systems in it's time. PITY YOUR SPEAKERS. It's the most indescribably heavy slice of music perfection I have ever heard. These guys are GODS. You will not be able to resist turning it up and up and UP. IT'S MONSTER. IF YOU'VE READ THIS FAR YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. Give in. Let yourself go. Be pummelled. Peace.

3.0 out of 5 stars Let's not get carried away..., 18 April 2008
This review is from: Kingdom Of Sorrow (Audio CD)
Like many who will either have already bought this album or are considering it, I'm a longstanding fan of both key contributors to the Kingdom of Sorrow project - Jamie from Hatebreed and Kirk from Crowbar/Down. As such I come to it with full knowledge of how brilliant their respective 'day-jobs' have been over the years.
I think the key word in all of this is 'project'. I say that because both guys have said they very deliberately set about having KoS sound different - Jamie wanted something a bit more melodic than Hatebreed and Kirk wanted something a bit more direct than Crowbar. And herein lies the problem; the best songs on the album are where they've failed to achieve this. It's only when you think "hey, that would have been a killer Crowbar riff" or, "wow, I can imagine that breakdown section in a really fast Hatebreed track" does the thing really come alive.
Don't get me wrong - this isn't a bad album by any stretch of the imagination. It is however rather less than the sum of its parts, and certainly the lesser of the two main guy's output recently. After all, when put between 'Supremacy' and 'Over the Under' I know which one is getting played least!
It's a worthy purchase, but if the pennies are spread thinly I'd advise you to start with Kirk and Jamie's full-time bands first.
