I loved kingdom hearts. I got it by accident on the recomendation of a friend. It was the perfect mix of great animation, great storyline, and grrat characters. Treveling through all the Disney worlds and final fanasy worlds characters was amazing. So obivously I had high hopes for these books. Unfortunately they did not deliver for me. I understand these books were to bridge the gap between game 1 and 2, and the do manage to capture the themes of the game, but the part the book are really lacking is the action. Fights are cut or non existance most of the special moves from the game are completely forgotten or atleast not shown. If the cut down on some of the humour and put in a couple more fight or bothered to draw a couple of special combos these would have been much better.

Kingdom Hearts CoM was the GBA game that fills the storyline between the events of the two PS2 games (KH1-2).
If you never had access to a copy, or never bought it, but loved the games/ previous manga series (for KH1), you probably would enjoy this more than most people as it does explain a lot- especially about Namine, Riku, Axel (yah!) and the Organization XIII members who never appeared in Kingdom Hearts 2.
The only drawback i found about the series was that it became a little >too< comical in the second of the two volumes. Although I'm all for a bit of comedy in manga (and some parts in the the series are REALLY funny), the second novel seemed to be more focused on the humour rather than using it as a tool to break the story up. This leads you to a different impression to how some of the more morbid characters should have been portrayed; and leaves you a little frustrated by the final 20 pages when what you really want some serious action rather than constant jokes.
All in all, its still a great series, and still definitely worth buying whether or not you played the GBA game, especially if you want more of an explanation to all the events leading up to KH2.
-Good artwork (same style as the previous series)
-Very funny bonus strips
-Good humour overall (if not a little over-excessive by the end of the second volume)
-Keeps pretty much on by the games storyline (shortened for obvious reasons lol)

+ If you're deciding whether to buy this or the game..... it depends on how much patience you have as it is a LONG game (about the same length as the first KH if you include Riku's storyline) and it does get harder if you don't get the hang of the controls- but it does have some very cool movies (proper fmv's and all) and shows the story as it is.

Must have for all Kingdom Hearts fans 16 May 2009
By Marta - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Paperback
Great mangas!

It continues the Kingdom Hearts story nicely~ The art is also very good.
It's a great way to know Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories story, without playing the game on the Game Boy Advance.

The box consists on 2 books - vol 1 and 2
Has the same size of 2 average manga books - about 19cm x 13cm x 4cm. It's also very light.

The images from the side of the case are well printed in color and show the covers of the 2 books inside. On top and side's you can see the Kingdom Hearts logo. There are little semi-circular openings to take the mangas out of the case easterly.

The box itself is made of cardboard, and it's really thin. If you already own the collection of this series, you may be despondent to buy this one to, because it doesn't add anything new, other than the cardboard box where you fit the books.

The mangas are your typical manga - black and white comics, all in English language.

As a Kingdom Hearts fan myself, i really like the manga adaptation and feel like any fan would like them too =D

Amazing Series 7 July 2008

What is there to say? Well first off, the animation was fantastic. The perfect combo of anime-manga styling, humorous and yet serious when necessary. The dialogue was to die for. The scenarios fit well and it filled in all the missing pages of the series for me. (no pun intended)
