It Cooled My Skin Before I Started Shaving - Nice!

I have a beard, but you still have to shave the areas that you trim. I have had a lot of problems recently with my skin burning after shaving no matter how many times I apply aftershave. I thought that the "cooling menthol" in King of Shaves AlphaGel might be a good thing to try. I'm glad to report that it was a good gamble as I had never heard of the brand prior.
The AlphaGel is a little different than other shaving cream/gel that I have used. Unlike others, this one didn't foam up very much, and I wondered if I had made a mistake. However, I decided to stick with it since it couldn't go back at this point. As I was wetting my razor to start shaving, the menthol started to kick in. The cooling feeling was very pleasant, and I was really wishing for something similar in the way of aftershave.
My concerns about the lack of foam were unfounded. I got a good shave, and my skin still felt cool even after I was done. After putting on my aftershave, I didn't have the usual redness and burning that I have in the past. Everyone's skin is different, but I found a winner for me.

I prefer non-foaming gels - King of Shave Menthol is the best choice on the market.

I like non-foaming gels for shaving. [And, by the way, cold water is a much better way to go than hot water. But I digress.] I've tried a number of the non-foaming gels. Gillette produced one for a nanosecond, then dropped it. King of Shaves Menthol is the best non-foaming gel on the market. I've tried Gillette's erstwhile offering, Nivea, NXT and both of King of Shaves US product offerings.
You can find this product at Target, which is where I first tried it out. There's the 'regular' product for sensitive skin, which is a blue, viscous liquid. Then menthol is green and a bit more expensive. Definitely go for the menthol. It's less viscous, meaning it spreads easier on your face. And it travels better. [The tube exceeds 3 oz, so you'll be squeezing this stuff into a smaller container. The Menthol version of the product comes out of those smaller tubes much easier.] Plus, the Menthol feels great on your face. Zing, zing, zing!

Better than the rest!

I have a tough beard that is tough to shave. Add to that the fact that I'm usually in a hurry...and I seem to carve my face up far too often. I've tried just about everything from cheapo shave cream to Edge gel to Alba Botanicals stuff and Aveeno.
Some are better than others, but this King of Shaves AlphaGel is better than the rest. I highly recommend it.
I should add that when they say menthol, they aren't lying! If you don't like the tingly feeling of menthol, maybe you should try one of their other shave gels...
