In the wake of the success with "King Rockabilly" (CDCHD 777) and "King RocknRoll" (CDCHD 975) Ace now bring you a third heaped helping of 1950s jivers, strollers and good rockin groovers from the vaults of King Records.
Compiled with the dancefloor in mind and (unlike the other CDs) focusing exclusively on Kings black rocknroll recordings, this package features some of the biggest names in R&B and in many cases some of their rarest recordings.
In-demand floorfillers like Donnie Elberts Leona and Believe It Or Not are comfortably complemented by long-time rocknroll favourites such as Hank Ballards version of Sugaree. Although the emphasis is on the upbeat, there are also a couple of strollers on board to help dancers get their breath back.
All tracks were freshly transferred from the original King production tapes by Aces Tony Rounce and Alec Palao, in September 2005. They personally guarantee that you have never heard it so good!
