This is the fourth studio album released by Annihilator in 1994 on Music For Nations Records. Jeff Waters is on Guitars, Bass, Vocals and stuff with Randy Black on drums. During the 1990's there wasn't much support for Thrash Metal in Canada or the U.S.A. and if you weren't playing grunge you were ignored out of hand, this is why I think that this album is not as fast or heavy as previous efforts as record companies weren't signing Thrash Metal bands at the time. The album has a dark edge to it and flirts with Rock 'n' Roll style riffing with blues based and Melodic Rock style lead breaks. There is plenty of chugging to go around but the album lacks a little bit of the heavier style riffing that peppers the three previous albums and comes off more Classic Heavy Metal than outright Thrash Metal. As an Annihilator Fanatic I have bought whatever I could get my mittens on and I don't regret any of the albums that I have bought at all but this one took me some time to really get into. This album has a latter day Judas Priest instrumental feel to it but the vocals are all Jeff Waters and he does an admirable job. I do love this album now as I have had time to really get into it. If you are just getting into Annihilator then you need to buy all of their stuff as each and every album is well worth owning.

After the good but criticised "Set the world on fire", "King of the Kill" comes back with a blast. It is the first CD Jeff Waters is actually singing himself and surprisingly you could wonder why he ever needed to put up with the troubles in exchanging his singers from album to album. "King of the Kill" is a must for every Annihilator fan! It is Power Metal at its best without any compromises.

The first Annihilator album with Jeff on vocals and He does a great job as well despite his protestations at doing so,or so the liner notes say,not my favourite album but easily has two of my favourite tracks, namely Second to None and Chasing the Wind,I've had the cassette version for ages but daren't use it so bought it on CD.
