"Amazing book... brilliantly presented thesis" -"Daily Mail"

Product Description

For fifteen hundred years, King Arthur has remained a mystery. For the first time, "King Arthur - The True Story" discovers the historical King Arthur, his Camelot and his final resting place. The authors uncover vital evidence for Arthur's historical existence. Centuries of myth are peeled away to reveal the truth behind the romance, and the Grail and Excalibur legends. The search for Arthur's Camelot leads to ancient ruins to the heart of Britain - an incredible Dark Age city recently unearthed by archaelolgy. A medieval manuscript in Oxford's Bodleian Library finally identifies King Arthur's burial site: the real Avalo.

If all the claims about the 'true' origins of King Arthur were indeed true, we'd be living in a very strange British Isles. Most counties have a claim to the mythological Arthur and countless works have attempted to shore up one theory over another (and I've read quite a few!). It is most refreshing to see a work such as 'King Arthur - The True Story' return to the original source material for an unsullied approach to solving the mystery of Arthur, his origins, battles and the location of his court at Camelot. It is with full credit to the authors that their historical journey makes for such an absorbing read and I cannot recommend this book highly enough.

An excellent book about the period just after the romans left Britain. The sources are of course somewhat thin so there is always an element of speculation but most of the conclusions reached are well supported and sources are cited. What a pleasure to read such a well reasearched book on the reality behind the myth of King Arthur instead of the usual semi-religious, romantic nonsense. Unfortunately they seemed to stretch the facts a little at the end where the evidence wasn't really sufficient for such a definite conclusion but I suppose this was necessary for commercial reasons. Overall a wonderful and highly informative book.

This is a well researched investigation into the myth of King Arthur and poses some very interesting questions regarding his true identity. The style of narrative holds the readers attention until the very last page. You may not agree with the final conclusion but I guarantee you will be spell bound along the way.
