This is a short lived tv series based on the White Wolf role playing and PC games. The Kindred are vampire society in the series comprised of 5 clans; The Ventrue, business/executive types; the Brujah ,the mob/enforcers, the Gangrel described as gangbangers with fangs, the Toreador the artisans/musicians, and the Nosferatu who are secretive and very much based on the Max Schreck vampire archetype.

This is a very interesting idea that would have made for fantastic television in the right hands. The vampire politics have more depth than most genre shows in that all 5 clans need to work together to keep the Kindred secret from the human world what they call protecting the Masquerade.

For your money you get all 8 episodes that were made for this show, including one that never aired but in terms of DVD this is a bare bones release with no extras or special features. The pilot episode of this show is dreadful largely due to the god-awful 'acting' of C. Thomas Howell and his blond love interest but grit your teeth and bear through it. Happily, C Thomas Howell doesn't have as much screentime from here on in, and the vampire politics angle comes to the fore, which is a satisfying arc.

This is a required taste; fans of the RPG game will quibble that important details where skipped over from the game, and Buffy fans may be appalled by the lack of production gloss, but if you're a vampire fan who remembers the bad old days before Underwold, Ultraviolet and Buffy and Angel, then this will be a nostalgic kick. Plus Buff and Angel fans will probably get a kick out of playing spot the extra. An entertaining series that will while away a few hours, but not a must buy for everyone.

Great Cult Classic that probably doesn't appeal to many people anymore (or ever) but still just watch it and you may be amazed. People may be put off by the first episode which is significantly not as good as the others but it is an intro after all. And while watching don't expect it to follow Vampire: The Masquerade closely cause it does take liberties and misses out clans.

This is the TV-series from the Roleplaying Games, ccg and so forth
of "Vampire: The masquerade".

This tv-series have vampires from most of the old camarilla clans.

Love/Thriller/action-theme

sadly only 8 episodes was ever made in this series, the series cancelled following the death of the main person: Mark Frankel (playing Gangrel Vampire Julian Luna) he died of a motorcycle accident and they decided to not continue the series...

Still a must have for fans of Vampire: The Masquerade or anyone who likes vampire-themed-productions.

I enjoyed this series when it was televised so it was good to have to chance to see it again. It was even more poignant as Mark Frankel was unfortunately killed in a motorcycle accident.

If you like vampires you will enjoy this different approach to them.

I really liked the TV show (even though some areas of it were a bit weak), so much so that I managed to buy an imported version of the series long before it was available in this country. Now that it is, it made sense for me to get a copy coded fro my region.
