Written in the mid-eighties by one of the few GP's who can truly be described as a legend in his own lifetime,this book is almost biblical in scope in that it surveys,with rare insight and eloquence,nothing less than the entire past,present and future of British general practice up to,and including,the next new contract but one [ie the current one!]
Using a style that ranges effortlessly from anecdotal to evangelical to deeply analytical,peppering the more abstruse passages with a leavening of acerbic political witticisms,Tudor-Hart singlehandedly persuaded at least one diehard sceptic that the new GMS contract could actually be a good thing for both patients and practitioners,and that it is up to us to make the best of it!
