What a fantastic guide book - packed with information and yet so accessible to all ages. It really brings Scotland's prehistory to life. I particularly appreciated the time line "History in Context" relating events in Argyll, Scotland and the World over the millennia and the waxing and waning (arrival and extinction) of various flora and fauna. To think the chambered cairn in Nether Largie pre-dates the first true pyramids in Egypt and yet when the earliest crannogs were being built in Loch Awe the Greeks were building the Parthenon. Kilmartin is wonderful place to visit - I heartily recommend you bring this book as your companion.
