This is the second book in the excellent Murder Notebooks series and I definitely urge readers to read "Dead Time" before this one. There are two reasons for this. Firstly it's really good read and secondly, you will know all about Rose and Joshua's situation and so you can get right into this new part of the story straight away. Rose and her almost-stepbrother, Joshua, have now learned that their parents are probably still alive and Joshua, in particular, is very keen to find out more, even though it is clearly going to be dangerous. Rose wants to tread more cautiously and anyway she has her mind on another problem regarding an old school friend who has died in mysterious circumstances and she would like to understand what happened. I have always loved Anne Cassidy's books for teenage readers. Her characters are well drawn and believable, the plots are imaginative and satisfying and her books are deservedly very popular in the school library.
