Leslie writes in an engaging way about her long life as a journalist, travelling the world and meeting more famous people than you could shake a stick at.
She's at her most amusing describing the antics of people she dislikes, such as the Clintons (both of them) and Princesses Margaret and Diana. She claims that the only time she was forced to amend her copy was when she described Diana as 'promiscuous' and a shocked editor took it out.
Occasionally, she bigs herself up a bit, sneaking into places where lesser mortals fail, usually by putting on a dotty-old-lady act, in a way that's not always convincing, but this is a rattling good read and will while away several happy hours.
