Format:Audio CD
Many years ago I bought this in LP form. I played it constantly and then it went the way of all LPs, and, before I bought this, I probably hadn't heard it in over 20 years. Then I found the CD while browsing and bought it but all the time thinking: would it be as I remembered? Was it really that good?
The answer is yes, simply yes. Everybody knows Killing me softly, but the other songs are still as good as I thought they were. Jesse is a powerful but restrained song of yearning, I am the girl is just beautiful with jazz/blue overtones. And there is a cracking version of Leonard Cohen's Suzanne. Its a fabulous album, every track a winner.
And if you remember it from the first time round its a bonus!

roberta flack is among those artist who aren't very well known to the general audience. while probably considered a great singer among people who are really into this kind of music, it should be made clear to others how great this music is. it never sounds too aged, is very soulfull and considering what a hit "killing me softly" by the fugees was proves how timeless roberta flack is
