I bought this (on behalf of my dad - technophobe) for my mum for Christmas. He says she has absolutely loved it and has become so addicted that she finished all of the puzzles in about three weeks and has now asked me to order more of the same...The difficulty level was high and she really appreciated that as some sudoku books can be too easy for her and she reckons there's no challenge. Dad was also quite pleased to get some peace and quiet!

I bought this for my ordinary sudoku loving husband for Christmas and he hasn't been able to put it down! He says he can feel his brain being stretched!

The book contains puzzles graded from one to ten, with one taking about 15 minutes and nine taking about two hours (grade ten taking longer...). Puzzles are well laid out/highlighted and there's plenty of space for notes around each. On the downside, there's no cage-reference and the answers don't include the cage highlights (useful for calculation checks I find).
I personally don't find a 15 minute puzzle fiendish (#1 actually took 5 mins) so feel a bit robbed of challenging puzzles. Saying that, I dipped into puzzle 147 and I'm still working through it a number of hours later. Based on their scale I estimate around 50 to be fiendish - grade seven (an hour) and up.
My rating of three stars reflects the lack of fiendish puzzles and poor cage help. If you're new to killer sudoku then this is probably up your street; however, if you're expecting something more challenging then you might consider "The Times Ultimate Killer Su Doku".

Some interesting killer sudoku . Starts easy and gets more difficult . The saturday Killer Sudoku from the Guardian is a favorite so I hoped that this book would be the same . Read more
