Book Description

18 July 2008 Thorndike Romance
As the illegitimate son of Diego Fuentes, Ian Richards faces danger at every turn. Neither his father nor his fellow Navy SEALs knows which side he's fighting for-or against. Which is exactly how the game must be played...until Agent Porter enters the picture. Kira Porter, undercover agent for the Department of Homeland Security, shadows Ian on his journey. She thinks she can see the real man beneath Ian's bad-boy exterior...but the ever-elusive Ian keeps her guessing at every turn. Is his goal to protect the Fuentes cartel from French terrorists? Or to do his father in for good? The only thing Kira does know is that her attraction to Ian is a time-bomb waiting to explode. With time running out on the Fuentes mission, she and Ian are drawn ever close to the edge of desire-and even closer into the line of fire...

More About the Author

Lora Leigh lives in the rolling hills of Kentucky, often found absorbing the ambience of this peaceful setting. She dreams in bright, vivid images of the characters intent on taking over her writing life, and fights a constant battle to put them on the hard drive of her computer before they can disappear as fast as they appeared. Lora's family, and her writing life co-exist, if not in harmony, in relative peace with each other. Surrounded by a menagerie of pets, friends, and a teenage son who keeps her quick wit engaged, Lora's life is filled with joys, aided by her fans whose hearts remind her daily why she writes.
She can often be found daydreaming and plotting and planning with the varied characters that fill her imagination when she isn't planning her flower gardens, watching the horses romp outside her home, or spending time with the family and pets she fills her life with. Writing is her passion, her peace, and her lifeline. She hopes you enjoy the stories, and that you visit her website www.loraleigh.com often for updates and news on characters and upcoming books

4.0 out of 5 stars Good book in the SEALS series, but. 16 May 2008
By ROROBLU'S MUM TOP 500 REVIEWER VINE VOICE
Format:Mass Market Paperback
.....the characters were not as likeable as in the previous books in the series. In Dangerous Games, Kell had a heart, as did Reno in his tale, and even Clint in his. Yes, there's loads of hot sex, but there's almost an angsty feeling as Ian tries to keep Kira at a distance, to a degree that it seemed as if 'why?' needed to be asked. They are both professionals, both know the risks of loving each other, but for goodness sake, they needed to learn how to trust each other - professionally and both personally i.e. to know that each would not deliberately put themselves at risk. Towards the end, I was getting fed up with the start/stop relationship, but was cheered up to learn that Nathan Malone's story in Wild Card, due out in the next couple of months, appears to be the first in a new series connected to this one. I'm not sure why this book will not be a SEALs one, but bring it on. Overall, I did enjoy this book, but it was a bit 'whiny'.

Lora Leigh is one of the few authors that can combine intense emotion with explicit sex scenes that even go into taboo areas that most romance authors won't touch. I like a lot of her books, but some of them can be plain silly with the object just being a lot of sex and others can be simply wonderful. Check out her Breeds series for some wonderful books. You can google her website for lots more information.
Killer Secrets is another in her Seals series, which started off with some pretty hot, steamy and intense stories. Sadly, this book is just not as good as her previous offerings.
Ian is a SEAL. He is not a traitor to his team or his country. But, his latest mission means that he must appear as both. His character is powerful, dark in some ways and very fierce. All the ingredients for your typical alpha hero, but it just didn't come together in a satisfactory way in this book.
The heroine, Kira, is contract agent for the CIA, and other 'good guy' agencies. She's dangerous, worldly, beautiful and deadly. However, again, her character just didn't fill out and lacked depth.
Hence, the relationship in this book lacked intensity and connection. Hot and sexy scenes could not save this book from the three star rating given. The characters' behaviour did not match the plot, which was irritating. A previous reviewer also mentioned the very poor editing and obvious spelling mistakes that were embarrassing.
Not a complete waste of time, but not the satisfying experience one would expect from Lora Leigh.

2.0 out of 5 stars Don't waste your time! 24 July 2008
Format:Mass Market Paperback
You know things are bad when you start noticing all the editing mistakes within the first chapter of a book, and this book was littered with irritating instances of double word useage within the same sentence, and contradictory statements within pages of one another. Even the sex scenes were too same-y after awhile - not to mention the sheer silliness of some of the times the characters chose to have sex, considering the "dangerous" characters and situations surrounding them. I don't know why I bothered to keep reading until the end, as there were several times I was tempted to just throw the book in a corner - I guess there was always the hope that it might improve. It didn't. Even the "heroine", who was supposed to be some incredible under-cover agent, more than capable of looking after herself, faints when her wrist is broken. Don't waste your time or money on this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars More criminal element in this (book 5) 14 Sep 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
There was a bit more to this story than with the previous two with Ian being a SEAL and also the son of a drug Lord. Things go south when Ian goes deep undercover to firstly stop the crime cartels and lastly his father it's gets even worse when the woman he loves turns up.
Kira works as a freelance secret agent and she's assigned the job of catching a crime Lord who happens to be connected to Ian but that's ok cos now she can get down and dirty with the man who stole her heart.
Plenty of fighting in this and an insight into a father's love.
I did find some inconsistencies which is why I gave 4*.
