Book Description

8 April 2007
It's The Cadillac Of Poker. . .And You're In The Driver's Seat

No limit Texas hold'em is the game of choice for newbies drawn in by nail-biting televised games, and for experienced players who relish the thrilling roller coaster ride (and profit!) that only no limit can provide. No limit is poker at its purest--the only game where, with one move, you can instantly obliterate your opponents. . .or your stack.

In the first Killer Poker book devoted exclusively to no limit Hold'em, John Vorhaus, dubbed "the sage of poker of our time" by CNN, outlines a complete strategy that allows you to play smart, winning poker while relishing the rush of the game. Vorhaus explores no limit from the inside out, examining its appeal and the qualities it takes to go the distance as a player. He instructs readers in key no limit skills such as:

  • Devising a plan for every hand

  • Classifying your opponents' style of play--and your own

  • Knowing the value of unpredictable and inconsistent play

  • Ensuring you have the right bankroll--and the right motivation--before you play

  • Having an exit strategy for every game

  • Dominating and crushing no limit tournament fields

And much more!

With Killer Poker No Limit! you'll learn to see the game the way the pros do, and you'll gain the Killer confidence and insider knowledge that enable you to make the right moves at the right time. . .and reap the rewards.

John Vorhaus has been writing about poker since 1988. His prolific pen has yielded Killer Poker: Strategy and Tactics for Winning Poker Play, Killer Poker Online: Crushing the Internet Game, The Killer Poker Hold'em Handbook, Killer Poker Online/2, and Poker Night: Winning at Home, in Casinos, and Beyond. His approach to the game of poker is best summed up by the theme of his Killer Poker series, "Go big or go home!"

John is also News Ambassador for UltimateBet.com and poker color commentator for Fox Sports Net. He has been described by CNN as "the sage of poker of our time."

I have dozens of Poker books.....strategy, tactics, anecdotes, biographies.
Many are steroetyped...formulated, and follow similar theories.
John's book is a great read as well as analysing many common situations that we all encounter at the table in a way which makes you think 'hey, he's RIGHT....I do normally do that...why didnt I think of doing THIS'

He gets you to re-appraise your own game, and all in a very entertaing and readable fashion.

Not many Poker books fall int the category 'cant put it down'
This one did.

4.0 out of 5 stars Killer Poker No Limit: A Winning Strategy for Cash Games and Tournaments 21 Oct 2007

This is my 4th Killer Poker book, and my 5th book by John Vorhaus. I have learned things with each one of his books and this one is no different. John, if you keep writting them, I'll keep reading them.

5.0 out of 5 stars YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED! Well written, amazing content 2 Dec 2008
By Dustin D. Dobrilovic - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I'm only on chapter 5 and already love it. I've played for 2 years, one year earning a nice living as a part-timer at 200NL live play. I've read a lot of books and after the 3rd book you usually run into the same material slightly regurgitated. Not here. The ideas that he presents are not available elsewhere or placed from a fresh point of view that assures you'll get something to take to the table. This is a book that when you start reading it, you automatically know you'll be re-reading it in the near future. This is not due to being dense in writing-style, because even the most literature-adverse reader (oxymoron?) will be instantly enraptured by John Vorhaus's beautiful writing-style. A very easy read.

Another fine aspect of this book is how John encourages interactive thinking with small reflective exercises perfectly placed within the text. I hope he has done the same for his other texts as I will be buying them very soon.

As I said, I'm only on chapter 5, and I normally would want to refrain from reviewing a book I have yet to complete, but I'm certain I won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Loose Agressive 15 May 2007
By MJG - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
Vorhaus advocates a kind of early Gus Hansen style of crazy-aggressive play. It's not for everyone, but after reading this book I dominated a 5/10 NLHE game, and it was the most fun I've ever had at the felt.
