I approach my cozie lit with much enjoyment. I'm the M C Beaton, Christie kinda of book lover. Adams deals with the arrival of Olivia with gusto to her small town of quirky characters. One reviewer complained about her character - arrogant, parking in handicapped spaces etc. The real test of cosy for me is that harmless dark edge - much like Caroline Graham manages in MidSomer. Cosies don't do gratuitous violence but do small town rivalry, bitterness, edginess.
I enjoyed the writing style most of all, keeping things moving quickly. I wasn't overly convinced by the plot but like it or not, the atmosphere and setting plus characters is very original and convincing.
