Review

'The writing is crisp and suspenseful, and the dialogue is as sharp as ever.' (John O'Connell GUARDIAN )

'He [Marshall] takes a standard revenge thriller and whip-cracks it into something more satirical... this expertly constructed thriller exploits modern anxieties.' (FINANCIAL TIMES )

'Marshall's thriller is the perfect summer read: a high concept page-turner that is always rooted in character and the everyday... Killer Move is a forcefull, well-crafted nightmare for the modern age.' (MYSTERY SCENE )

'A subtle and unnerving story of the little things that can tip the balance of one's life and send it spiraling into chaos.' (PUBLISHER'S WEEKLY )

'Marshall ratchets up the stakes of his deftly written suspense novel by injecting telling if somewhat paranoid commentary on how regular people can be manipulated by those with the means and ways.' (BOOKLIST )

'A mind-blowing combination of crime and horror, made all the more terrifying because the character doesn't know why it's all happening. Compelling and unnerving, it will make readers look a lot more closely at the people around them, and the startling climax will make them wonder if anyone really knows anyone.' (ROMANTIC TIMES )

'It's juicy reading, and the gasp-inducing ending will leave you wishing for more.' (CASCADIA WEEKLY )

'Michael Marshall...has the rare ability as an author to accurately depict the world we live in, horrifying though it may be, in vivid detail. KILLER MOVE offers a franctically paced read, building up to a crescendo...another breathless modern-day thriller.' (Marty Mulrooney ALTERNATIVE MAGAZINE )

'Great plot, good strong characters, creatively and well written.' (CRIMESQUAD.COM )

Product Description

Bill Moore is a man with a plan. He's got a lucrative job selling condos in the Florida keys, a great marriage, and a beautiful house. He had a five year plan for world domination, too, but it's already creeping into year six... so now he's decided to mix it up - just a little. This means getting in tight with the people in power, the players who run the area like their personal kingdom. It's all going to plan until the day Bill gets to work to find a card left on his desk. It's black on both sides, just one word printed in white: MODIFIED. From that moment, Bill's life begins to change. At first barely noticeably, then in more and more disturbing ways. Bill soon finds out, in the most terrifying fashion, that he has become the subject of a dark and deadly game... and that he has no choice but to fight back. Packed with relentless twists and sinister thrills, KILLER MOVE is the latest psychological thriller from bestselling, award-winning author of BAD THINGS and THE STRAW MEN.
