From the same creators of Shadow of the Damned, a cult classic on PS3 and X360 that under sold massively despite being critically acclaimed. Goichi Suda, the creative genius behind that game and other classics like Killer 7 (PS2 and Gamecube) has come up with another masterpiece and hit gold. Unfortunately once again, no one is buying it. Perhaps his games, like most JRPG's in the West, are simply too Japanese for the general, casual, core crowd.
Killer is Dead is a crazy, hack and slash variant of games like DMC or Tenchu Z but with brighter, bolder cel shaded graphic. A soundtrack that is very jazzy and quirky, somewhat reminiscent of Kill Bill. The story is just beyond bizarre but that's part of the major appeal so expect some matrix, head scratching moments.
You can play the game on any difficulty and unlock almost all the achievements. Also for the purists out there, the original Japanese language track you heard in the trailers is present with English subtitles. Otherwise you can play it in English language. I recommend the Japanese for more personality and flair.
The game is so addictive and the boss battles so fun and different between each one, that most will play until completion. This game is actually surprisingly easy to master and most will find very few moments that are not instantly solvable through a simple train of thought.
Buckle up, you are in for a experience that will blow your mind. Gamer discretion advised! Game includes sexual references, scantily clad women and a ton of blood and violence. This is rated 18 Extreme for a reason.
