Molly Forrester loves her job as the resident "Dear Abby" columnist at Manhattan's glossy Zeitgeist Magazine, and while she's not working on "hard" news stories, she has a lot of perks - like being able to go to work in her pajamas when she feels the need. Though she's always held the hope that opportunity for a more serious journalism career would knock, she never thought that it would throw itself under her feet, more or less, ruining her electric blue Jimmy Choos, and placing her smack dab in the middle of a murder investigation surrounding her Zeitgeist colleague, Teddy. Now Molly, with the help of her two best friends - lawyer Cassady, and party planner Tricia - and an uber hot homicide detective, Molly finds herself trying to solve the crime herself, in an attempt to land the biggest story of her career. That is, if her investigation doesn't land her six-feet below ground.
The moment I saw the cover of Sheryl J. Anderson's KILLER HEELS, I had SEX AND THE CITY flashbacks, and knew that I had to have it. Sheryl J. Anderson is possibly one of the most talented new mystery writers to hit the scene in the past couple of years. Her descriptions of connections in New York City, and how murderous the writing/magazine industry truly is, are right on mark; and her character development, and snappy dialogue keep the reader enthralled from first page to last. A fabulous first novel that will make you feel underdressed - it may be wise to slip on a pair of six-inch heels while reading.
