4.0 out of 5 stars Brilliant!, 17 Feb 2006
By A Customer
This review is from: Killer Gorilla (Hardcover)
This is such a good book. We borrowed it from the library and have since bought our own copy. Mouse loses her baby in the jungle and while she is looking for him she comes across a huge gorilla who tells her to stop. Mouse terrified runs away and ends up running all over the world to try to escape the gorilla but he keeps following until mouse ends up at the North Pole with nowhere else to go... Is gorilla really going to eat mouse or is everything not as it seems! This is just kids storytelling at its best. There's a repetetive nature to the text which kids love, engaging pictures and a fab twist in the tale. Try it you will like it. Suitable for ages 3-6.

5.0 out of 5 stars Killer Gorilla, 31 Aug 2010

This review is from: Killer Gorilla (Paperback)
Mouse has lost her baby and is searching for him everywhere when, up pops a gorilla. "Stop!" he shouts, but Mouse is scared and runs and runs. She runs all around the world, with the gorilla chasing her, until he finally corners her. "Here he is!" he says and baby mouse is clenched tightly in his hand. Mouse is ashamed she was scared, when Gorilla asks "Who were you running away from?" and she looks into his kindly eyes, she cannot tell him she was scared of him. Lovely book - great language, vivid illustrations and a message about not taking people at sight value. Cover is a little scary, but as the moral of the story is that he really isn't scary at all, it works very well. My three year old daughter, quite nervous of some stories, wasn't scared at all. Great buy and fun to read aloud.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not as scary as it looks, 24 Aug 2006
This review is from: Killer Gorilla (Hardcover)
My children aged 2.5 and 3.5 love this book that we borrowed from the library.

I must admit that I was tempted to put it back on the shelf when I saw the front cover. It doesn't look the best type of picture for a bedtime story!

Even my daughter who's going through a 'scared of monsters' phase loves this book.
