Product Description

CD Description

KILL DEVIL HILL, is the new project featuring acclaimed drummer Vinny Appice (Black Sabbath, Heaven and Hell, Dio) and bassist Rex Brown (Pantera, Down). Vinny Appice commented on signing to SPV and what people can expect from KILL DEVIL HILL: We are a new band with the power, energy and history to stand out, create music and be successful. We are proud to be with SPV, a label with the same attitude, talent and drive! The album was produced by Warren Riker who is best known for his work with Down, Corrosion of Conformity, Sublime, and Cathedral.

We know Rex is the man but the band work well together and have given us a truly great cd and it is refreshing to hear some new tunes that get your head nodding.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pleasing release. 6 Jun 2012
By Phil On
Format:Audio CD|Verified Purchase
Kill Devil Hill is a good record, BUT it is exactly what I thought it was going to be: a mix between Heaven and Hell and Down.
Is it as good as those two bands?...Well no: while very good, the singer is no Dio or Anselmo, and the song-writing is below the standards of the aforementionned bands, although a couple of tracks really stand out.
So a very good heavy rock album in the vein of H&H, Down, Black Label Society,...For Heavy fans!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD!!!! 23 May 2012
By Scott - Published on Amazon.com

I have never written or commented on a CD before, but I am really impressed with this CD. I definately see elements of all of their previous work and the vocals are similar to the great Layne Staley of Alice in Chains. What a GREAT new band!

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome CD!!!!! 27 May 2012

Dewey Bragg has KILLER Pipes which which at times are very reminiscent of Layne Staley. With Brown and Appice hammering down the bottom end of these tunes I knew I would like this CD, but it has surpassed my expectations and is an EPIC release. I can't recommend this CD enough!! It is almost like Sabbath and Alice in Chains had a child. Get this CD yesterday!!!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!! 23 Aug 2012

Proof that a bunch of old guys can still whip the crap out of these young punk "metal" bands. Classic, old school, heavy metal. No gimmicks, no BS, just straight up, kick you in your teeth metal. This album would've been gold 10, 15 years ago, and will be gold 15 years from now. Unbelievable effort by these guys!

4.0 out of 5 stars Kill Devil Hill Rocks! 26 May 2012
By Modicker - Published on Amazon.com
They are a great band to see live, and their album does not sound contrived in any sort of way. These are just four experienced guys who love what they are doing, and they do it well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album 11 Sep 2012

I'm so glad that guys like these are still getting out there and making new music. KDH has been compared to several bands, but I really believe that they have a sound of their own. I really like Dewey Bragg on vocals. Great album for metal fans. Also, great live show!
