It's a fact: This is the coolest TV show on Earth! As far as I can remember when this show was broadcast in the UK over 10 years ago now, there was only about a dozen shows -in which season 1,2 & 3 were mixed together - to represent the show in general. Let me tell you,'Kids' fans out there, you need to buy all three box sets, (and the remaining two, when they are released- fingers crossed!) only then can you experience the wacky, wonderful and sometimes plain weird world of this Canadian troupe. Some old characters are welcomed back; we still have the head-crusher, Buddy Cole, Mississippi Gary and the Cops, but the sketches that will really make you laugh out loud are the one-offs.
I'll be honest, if you've never seen this show, you'll either find it comedy genius or it'll go way over your head. (But if nothing else, the theme music and intervening snippets between sketches are delectable enough!) The sketches themselves are brought together by the finest ensamble of comedy writers; each bringing their own diverse range of radical, smart, sassy, original, and most importantly, unpredictable brand of humour. If you enjoy certain off-the-wall comedy, you'll treasure this. The extras include performances from early live stage shows, and some audio commentary. The only disappointing factor for season 3 is there are no insightful interviews with the five stars, like you have with season 1 & 2. But overall, you definitly get your money's worth.
It's pure silliness in parts, but this only adds to the attraction. It's appeal seems universal, breaking all boundries that most other comedies sit within, and I'd recommend potential fans to get hold of this season as fast as any other, as they are all equally addictive and enchanting to watch: To deny yourself the pleasure, you'd have to be crazier than 'two clearly insane people, like Jerry Sizzler and her sister... Jerry Sizzler' 'Nuff said.
