5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Have! 31 Dec 2009
Format:Paperback
We purchased this book for our son ahead of his NYC stay. It is full of interesting information specifically for kids ... with websites etc that really got him in the mood for his trip. The book also includes hints for kids, such as not moaning when adults go somewhere they want to/buying a postcard at each place and writing about it - rather that the usual pencil etc! Although we took several guide books with us, we also used this book for additional info. Our son loved it and carried it around every day.

4.0 out of 5 stars nice guide to Manhattan 18 May 2007
By audrey - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
We recently visited Manhattan and used this book (among others). It was well written and informative. It covered highlights rather than being comprehensive, but we did get good information. Chapters cover: NYC's neighborhoods, Times Square, must-see sights, museums, parks and zoos, cultural venues, sports, Ellis Island, Ground Zero, eating and shopping. Easy to read print and boldface information make the guide easy to use, and tips often include web addresses, which was handy. Nice guide.

5.0 out of 5 stars A FUN BOOK WITH GREAT IDEAS 13 Jun 2006
By Carol Weston - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Whether you want to go to a Yankees game in the summer or skate at Rockefeller Center in the winter, you'll find great leads in this portable book. New York City can be overwhelming, but this guidebook is accessible, handy, inspiring, and fun. There's even room for your kids to write down their impressions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good 27 May 2013
By Elizabeth M. Clymer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
I bought this as a present for my twelve year old grandson who I am taking to New York this summer. I think he will enjoy reading it and learn a lot about New York. It's definitely geared toward kids and has a lot of good information about New York that I did not know. I will rate it again after he reads it.
4.0 out of 5 stars Worked for our 6 year old 7 May 2014
By Amazon Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
We read this with our 6 year old and he was very interested. However, it has some weird recommendations on where to go so we didn't get through all of it. Overall a good read for kids, but you should probably buy a real guidebook on what you want to see and then just read those sections in this book.
4.0 out of 5 stars Good guide 16 Dec 2013

It was pretty good, but the grammar was not always correct, not a good example to kids. The information is good
