Format:VHS Tape
This is a truly enchanting and worthwhile video for children. When I started doing some yoga, my 9 year old wanted to join in with Mom, so I ordered this. We liked it so much we did the tape twice in a row when we first got it, and now we do it every day! The video is colourful as well as educational, with the instructor matching yoga poses with Australian animals, each with its own illustration, showing kids a frill-necked lizard and tasmanian tiger. There are two 15-minute segments, one with land animals and the other with sea creatures, and a guided meditation at the end. It is filmed outdoors, in the grass and by the water. The instructor and the yoga kids are entertaining, and keep the kids' attention without being "sappy". My 5 year old, Gaia, is now wanting to get into the act, too. All in all, a great intro to yoga for kids. To the author, I would simply say----Rachel Zinman, can you give us some more of these????!

I bought this video after reading an earlier review but wasn't entirely sure that my kids were old enough for it (they were 2 and 4 at the time). However they love it. They quickly mastered the excercises and keep asking to 'do more yoga'. The exercises are based around australian animals and sea creatures which makes them more appealing and easier for little ones to remember. We keep finding the 2 year old posing as an australian tree frog, a dingo and a tasmanian tiger. Definately recommended.

My kids love doing yoga as mum does regular yoga and they want to do what I do. They love the DVD and it is presented in a fun way. My only concern is that there is not enough clear explanation on how to do the poses properly and so they are doing them in a way they are not properly benefiting from the poses. Maybe I needn't worry about that as they are getting interested in yoga at a young age and any stretching, breathing excercises are better than none.
