Bought as a present to remind the children of our last holiday! Great ideas - would be nice for adults too if you add a tipple

5.0 out of 5 stars Junior Mixologists (and their folks) will love this. 1 Aug 2014
By Dan Vedda - Published on Amazon.com
Stuart Sandler (aka Mr. Retro) shares some of the best non-hootch drink recipes ever in this detailed, graphically awesome, (thanks to Derek Yaniger's vibacious art) and nostalgic tribute to the various punches and coolers we slurped down by the bucket as kids. Whether you're serving for birthday parties, recitals, or even the grownup church social, you can choose anything from a classic punch to a wacked-out sugar bomb guaranteed to make any 10-year-old bounce off the ceiling. Now I want a follow up volume of hot toddies for winter! Mommies who entertain, cub scout troops, even kids with treehouses need to mix up some of these festive refreshments for their guests! Be sure to buy 2--someone will pinch your copy as soon as they see it! (Disclaimer: I love Mr. Retro and Derek's work so much, I bought one direct from them--so Amazon can't call me a confirmed buyer--but I totally dig my copy.)

I originally bought this book, because I love retro artwork and I wanted the book for that reason. Now that I've read through it, I am going to make a lot of the recipes. They are all non-alchoholic and are great for me as I don't like alcohol. Looking forward to making the fun drinks so beautifully illustrated.
5.0 out of 5 stars a work of art for adults and kiddos 2 Aug 2014
By Anna from Eleva - Published on Amazon.com
This book is a work of art that both kids and adults will enjoy. My 2 boys get to pick out one special drink from the book each week...and each week there is excitement and conversation about which drink is the favorite. I also purchased it for a friend with 4 kiddos as a thank you gift. Great for summer kid parties.

5.0 out of 5 stars ... Cocktails - my eight year old son did not like sweet drinks 1 Aug 2014
By philip lyons - Published on Amazon.com
The Quintessential guide on Kiddie Cocktails - my eight year old son did not like sweet drinks, preferring bland beverages such as water and coffee (black). However, all that has changed when I purchased this great read. The 70's throwback artwork and history lessons on the kiddie cocktail interested me, while my son loved the beverage recipes. Now, instead of wanting just a glass of water or a steaming cup of Joe, he requests one of the many varieties of kiddie cocktails described in this book. Our favorite is the Creamsicle! This is a fun book.
