This Kidde 0914UK is a compact and basic smoke alarm for protection to the family and home. The Kidde 0914UK is easy to install; it has a sealed-in power source so this will reduce user-maintenance; and it has a test button to check battery and alarm operation. Also fitted to the Kidde 0914UK is a red LED to indicate unit power is on. This great safety device comes with a 3 year alarm warranty and is BSI kitemarked. The 0914UK is supplied with a powerful long life 9 Volt Battery as standard. Kidde recommend that Ionisation alarms are quicker at detecting fast flaming fires. * * Kidde also recommends that for maximum protection that both ionisation and photoelectric smoke alarms be installed.

Like the other, overall, reviews - which I found very useful - I found this product well up to the job.Simple to install and seems simple to maintain. I'm sure there are better and more comprehensive (and expensive)products on the market, but for a straightforward domestic smoke alarm for use in a small flat such as I installed these alarms in, then they fit the bill perfectly.

I bought two of these smoke alarms for my open plan home in case the kitchen caught light. The test button is very loud but what happened when thick smoke filled my home from the burnt grill? Nothing! I even wafted the smoke in the direction of the alarms but still nothing. Tried a few candles and the heat and smoke didn't set it off either. The test buttons still work but that isn't much use if it doesn't detect anything else!

I purchased 2 of these when they were on offer (thank you HotUK) I was surprised how small they were compared to the ones I was replacing but then I was surprised how loud they were when I pressed the test button.
Very good item and being smaller than a standard smoke alarm they are less intrusive.
I can't remember exactly how much I paid for them but I know it was less than the price of 2 new PP3 batteries and they came with the batteries so it was a bargain!

Small, Cute but Loud
Does its job and is compact and practical. Easy to fit and makes plenty of noise when asked to do so. Otherwise sits quietly in its place and lets you get on with life.
